A Typical Day at SUWS Seasons

Each day of the Seasons wilderness program for preteens is designed to meet the specific needs of children ages 10 to 13 through hands-on learning and plenty of fun. Although the daily schedule varies depending on the needs and goals of the group, a typical day may include the following activities:

  • Hikes and experiential activities in the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina
  • Individual therapy weekly and group processing sessions daily
  • Animal-assisted therapy with licensed therapy dogs
  • Quiet time to write letters home, rest and play games
  • Team-building initiatives on our therapeutic ropes course
  • Earn tokens for positive behavior which they can exchange at the “traveling store” for special toys and treats

It’s a very therapeutic program. It’s designed to help you...clear your head and start thinking right about who you are and what you deserve in this life.
